Devin Bell, DO (far left), and Cory Miller, MD (far right), had an important job at the MO' Cowbell Marathon in St. Charles on Sunday, Oct. 4... They held the finish line tape for all the races!
Cool fall temperatures and mist didn’t keep more than 5,000 runners and walkers from participating in the fifth annual MO’ Cowbell Marathon on Sunday, Oct. 4. Historic downtown St. Charles was packed with more than 3,000 family members, friends, and supporters as racers completed the marathon, half marathon, half marathon relay, and 5K courses throughout St. Charles.
Barnes-Jewish St. Peters and Progress West Hospitals were the main sponsors and event coordinators. To bring together the participants and the sponsoring hospitals, two BJC Medical Group physicians volunteered as the face of the organization. Devin Bell, DO, a primary care physician, and Cory Miller, MD, who specializes in obstetrics and gynecology, both at Progress West Hospital, spoke with participants about healthy habits and selecting a physician. They even held the finish line tape for the race participants!
Experiencing all of the encouragement during the race and celebration of the participants’ accomplishments was the highlight for Dr. Bell though. “The crowd was amazingly supportive of all the runners from the winner to the last marathoner to cross the finish line,” Dr. Bell said. “I think that helps put perspective on how hard the participants worked to finish the race.”
Dr. Bell and Dr. Miller are a part of BJC Medical Group and are on staff at Progress West Hospital. To learn more about them, please visit bjcmedicalgroup.org or call (636) 344 – 2400 for Dr. Bell or (636) 344 – 1072 for Dr. Miller.
