July is Fibroid Awareness Month

What are Fibroids?

Fibroids are the most common pelvic tumor in women and rarely appear before puberty and usually regress after menopause. Fibroids arise in the myometrium (muscle) of the uterus and are benign (noncancerous) tumors that can distort the internal and external contours of the uterus.
